Descaling Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger



Heat Exchangers require consistant descaling nd removal of water borne fouling agents. The efficiency and energy consumption is optimised with periodic maintenance activity.

The ideal descsling technology would require the minimal of dowm time and maximum of efficiency in removal.

Having suffered extensive damage to inner linings after the use of acid based descalers we were contacted by the maintenance of the large gravity die casting company.

With confidence generated after the tests on copper plates and tubes, the descaling was carried out in a running Shell and Tube Heat exchanger. Usinga a recycling system, plain water was first pumped into the tubes to remove deposis of much and grime.This was followed by flushing 10% Enviroscale at ambient temperature. In 15 minutes the flow rate dramatically improved and after 30 minutes we opened the plates to check the effect. It was sent that almost 70% of the scling has cleaned up and with another one of recirculation, the Heat exchanger was deemed to be as effective as new.

The client is CRP Tools and has indicated that savings of lakhs of rupees is accrueing due to the efficiency and savings due to stoppage of leakage in systems
