The use of Chemicals as pesticides, cleaners, biocides, fertilisers, antibiotics, growth promoters and nutrients have solved many problems yet created situations with far more harm than immediate good.
In Agriculture, the fertilisers, pesticide and growth promoters have saturated soil and plant physiology with unnecessary and hazardous ingredients. Apart from destroying the natural microbes that made up the healthy eco-system, these chemicals have been linked to diseases in farmworkers. The exposure to toxic fertilisers has also affected the dependent ecosystem of birds, insects and nematodes.
In homes and Industries, powerful chemicals have destroyed the natural inhibiting bacteria and hence the function of safe restoration of surfaces- e it as cleaners, odour control or sanitising material.
In Animal Husbandry, the chemical has been used indiscriminately to sanitise, deodorise, cleaning and use as antimicrobial agents. The results are for disastrous when the chemicals enter the food cycle of the animal. The presence of antibiotics has had an effect on te health of animals to a very large extent. The situation tends to get more dangerous when the livestock is either used a s food or produces egg or milk or meat. These pesticides get transferred to the human population with devastating effect.
